Old Corner Terrace House Makeover
Before |
The living room is dark, gloomy, narrow. Existing floor tile is dirty and stained. Ceiling cornice treatment is dated. Staircase railing is rusted. |
The back/ side yard adhering to the neighbor. It is dark and run-down, lack of privacy. The space is narrow and under-utilized. |
We decided to break the main wall in living room. Extend the living room, create a new extended living space which purge right out into the side garden. |

The new living room is now much more spacious and comfortable. The room is fully filled with daylight, penetrated through new floor-to-ceiling height window, and timber blind. The new wall is constructed of reinforced concrete. Let the original finishing of the concrete wall be the feature of this “muji”-concept living space. |
See how the daylight naturally woven into the cozy living space. The existing tiled floor is laid over with high-quality timber flooring. The color palette is cleaned up and softened with natural and neutral earth tones. |
Staircase railing design is simplified. It blends in well with the simple and elegant dining set, over-looking the beautiful garden. |

The master bedroom is tucked at the corner of the house, with only small window looking into the back lane. Overall feel is gloomy and unattractive |
We did a major repositioning of the space. Master bedroom is relocated to original location of kitchen.
Now we have a master bedroom that fronts the garden.
Let’s break open the window, and have a close dialgue with the garden. Over-looking the room, is a spacious bathroom with nice skylight, with private garden view too! |
